Property owners will pay the same amount of Single Property Tax (ENFIA) in 2015 as they did last year after all.However, it will be paid in five and not six monthly installments, as was the case in 2014, with the first due at the end of October.The notices for the 6.1 million owners will be uploaded on the Internet in 10 days’ time.Although the government had promised an adjustment of the extremely high property values used for tax purposes (the so-called ‘objective values’), as the Council of State had dictated, taxpayers will eventually pay exactly the same amount, to boost state coffers by 2.65 billion euros.The final tranche is due by the end of February.
The Alternate Minister of Finances Tryfon Alexiadis has confirmed that Greek taxpayers with real estate property outside of Greece will face the ENFIA tax, during a speech he delivered at the real estate market conference.

Sources state that the findings submitted forecast horizontal reductions from 10-20% for middle-class areas, and smaller reductions as well as increases in working class districts. Prime real estate in top notch areas such as Mykonos or upmarket Ekali remain the same.It remains to be seen if the government will accept the committee’s proposals, at least for working class districts where increases to objective values were found.
