Latest update: Summary -

As of 7 April 2019, the Hellenic Police will begin implementing systematic passport control checks for all European citizens travelling to/from destinations outside the Schengen area (including the UK) in line with a 2017 Schengen Borders Code regulation; increased waiting times at passport control are possible on departure from and arrival into Greece; you should ensure you arrive at the airport in good time.

Not clear yet how this will affect things at Kef airport. If you're with a tour company, e.g. TUI or Thomas Cook, on a package holiday then they should arrange the return transfer coach times to get you back to the airport in good time. If you're an independent traveller you might want to arrive a little earlier than usual, especially bearing in mind the major building works at Kef airport.
