Greek player best remembered for being dropped from a stretcher is tracked by West Ham

West Ham United sporting director Mario Husillos spent the international break watching Leonardo Koutris – the man most famous for being dropped from a stretcher - as the club line up a move for a new left back.

Koutris played in Greece’s Uefa Nations League victory over Finland last Thursday night, a game that Husillos personally attended.

Koutris plays his club football for Olympiakos... But the 23-year-old is perhaps most famous outside Greece for being dropped from a stretcher twice while injured in 2015, when he played for Ergotelis. Koutris was eventually dumped on the side of the pitch and the video went viral almost as quickly as Ergotelis issued a formal complaint.
