Kef fire risk 29/09/22: Low

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £ 0.9298 GBP
1 €UR = $ 0.9852 USD
£1 GBP = 1.0755 €UR
$1 USD = 1.015 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:
This is an overall forecast, due to the mountainous terrain the weather can be very localised.

Millions urged to get flu and Covid jabs as experts predict ‘difficult winter’

Millions have been urged to get their flu and Covid vaccines amid warnings a “twindemic” and difficult winter could lie ahead.

A devastating flu season is expected in the colder months, which has sparked fears it could combine with rising Covid numbers and overload the NHS.

Experts warned there could be a “serious risk to health” this year over flu levels, lower immunity due to reduced exposure and an increase in Covid with lots of variants circulating around.

Public health and NHS leaders are urging those eligible to get vaccinated against both illnesses to protect themselves and those around them.

Households urged to take energy meter readings ahead of October 1 price rise

Households have been urged to take their energy meter readings – and try to submit them – ahead of prices rising from October 1.

This will prevent firms from estimating usage and charging for energy used before October 1 but at the higher rate.

The average household energy bill will rise from £1,971 to a frozen £2,500 under the energy price guarantee announced by Prime Minister Liz Truss earlier this month.

This is an increase of 27% from the previous price cap, which limited the rate providers can charge customers on a standard variable tariff.

So there you are, sat on loo and you casually chuck loo paper in bin in corner. Just before you realise that there is no bin in corner, you're back in UK

Hm, track to be surfaced behind Skala from the bend on the road between the petrol station to Ratzakli, past the football stadium and down to behind Crystal Palace Hotel and on to the Poros road. Potentially a Skala by-pass, but probably not.

Tavernas and bars getting an extension to the period they can expand on to 'common areas' with tables and chairs until 15 January, 2023. Probably won't have much effect on Kef.
