This Ionian island has two superstar beaches, Myrtos and Antisamos. However, it has a relative secret in Petani, a gorgeous patch of white sand and pebbles on the less-visited Paliki peninsula (on the west coast). A steep hairpin road to the beach’s edge makes it accessible to wary drivers, but not to developers.

Never been, can't be bothered to hire a car! :unsure: What's it like? You get a usually good view on take off from Kef. More realistic pics "borrowed" from Google Earth:

Last time we were there in 2008 it was wonderful. We took all the family for the day. Shelves quite steeply just like Myrtos so caution needed if going in to swim. We just sat in a long line all eight of us on the beach at the surf line and let the waves break over us the kids thought it was fab. It was a day to remember as we came down the coast past the Monastery back to the ferry. It was an amazing sunset and a little boy was just taking his flock of sheep home along the road ,it just made the day! One I will always remember. Needless to say the kids were fast asleep by the time we hit Lixouri !!
