Ionian islands expect growth in tourism next year

The Ionian Islands Regional Authority is optimistic that 2016 will be a good year for tourism and believes that the early signs from bookings are very positive, Spyros Galiatsatos, the regional authority’s vice governor responsible for tourism, told Kathimerini.

He added that the tour operators’ schedules and air seat availability to the western Greek island cluster have increased for 2016 and the British market is already showing an increase of more than 10 percent in bookings.

A huge opportunity for Greece. What with the Russians stating on their "social media" to-day that they are not going to Turkey in 2016 and of course Tunisia and Egypt are no go destinations for the Brits.
