Swarm of killer hornets make a beeline for Britain
Britain's National Bee Unit will hold a crisis meeting after it is revealed millions of deadly hornets could wing their way across the Channel

Millions of huge killer hornets which eat bees and have caused the deaths of six people in France, could be heading to Britain because of the warm Spring, experts have warned.

Beautiful day here today.  Kath and I went to Marbury Country Park, just North of Northwich with the new dog, Rosie the Retriever who has only just learnt how to behave safely off the lead:

Lunch and a few excellent glasses were had in garden of the Spinner and Bergamot  (racehorse names long ago, apparently.)  Great to be in the UK!!

Shame about the coming weekend.  Kath's away in Lytham with her sister.

That could almost be the Koutavos lagoon. Rosie looks like a little polar bear. Might feel like one if the 'mini Arctic Plunge' materialises.

Actually it is a bit like Koutavos now you mention it!  Rosie is as bit as a polar bear but is only 6 1/2 months and has a much nicer nature!

Just had a heavy shower of rain including very large snow flakes. Snake pass over to Manchester difficult with snow so not far away!!What happened to Spring? Was intending to use a voucher bought for Mothers Day to visit an Alpaca farm over Ringinglow near Sheffield but its a bit exposed up there so maybe better another day. I love Alpacas and would love my daughter to get one or even two for the farm to keep the grass down on the orchard. Anybody had experience of them? Will keep you posted when we get round to going.

Was wondering if you'd seen any snow up your neck of the woods.

I love Alpacas

Anybody had experience of them?

No, but Mary has a little lamb

Some piccies Colleywobble sent me:

Don't ya just love the hairstyle!?!

Yes, Colleywobble & co. made it to the Alpaca farm and it looks like they chose a good day for it. Now maybe you'll want to batten down the hatches:

Snow?  Bright sunshine here in Brum (for a change).

We all know that this strand is for the benefit of disgruntled ex-pats who want to feel justified in staying in a country swirling rapidly down the karzi.

Got us sussed, Ari!  When the rumour mill runs dry, around February time, there's nothing we like more than sitting out on our patios of an evening drinking local wine at about £0.60 a bottle and denouncing all those lying tourists who've told us Britain has gone down the karzi. Britain's a wonderful place that can only get better, even though some are talking of moving to... Scotland!

The good news is that, for about four days, the UK will be hotter than Greece. We'll be really envious as we plop into pools or drop off to sleep with the a/c on.

Of course, that weather won't last.

Come off it, Maik.  I have heard too many expats, or long term tourists as they should be more accurately termed, moaning about the Greeks, the food, the short terms tourists etc etc to believe any of your propaganda.

Ah, well, Ari, the rumour mill needs to top up its reservoir with a fresh supply of long term victims tourists  ;)

Parts of Europe have been hit by temperatures reaching above 40C, leading to concerns for the welfare of the young, the elderly and vulnerable.

Spain and Portugal are already on alert after temperatures reached as high as 44C in the Spanish city of Cordoba earlier in the week.

The hot weather has now reached France, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands. It was the UK's hottest day since 2006.

The high temperatures are likely to stay for a few more days.

In the UK, temperatures of 34C were recorded - it's hottest in nine years.

Last night in Brum was hot but the real problem was the humidity was very high.  Sitting still made you sweat.  Longed for a cool drink at the Allo Allo in Katelios.
