Scots could travel to continent and avoid virus checks if they fly from 'low-risk' Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen airports

SCOTTISH holidaymakers might be able to fly for a summer holiday to some destinations on the continent and avoid any coronavirus checks and quarantine, so long as they fly from Edinburgh, Inverness or Aberdeen airports, it has emerged.

I don't think there is (or can be) any requirement to be Scottish to fly to Greece from e.g. Edinburgh Airport. Currently still the problem of two weeks quarantine on return, though.

People are turning their back gardens into Greek-inspired holiday hideaways during lockdown

WITH holidays cancelled for the foreseeable future Brits are turning their back gardens into Mediterranean-inspired retreats instead.

Greece is one of the most popular holidays, and people have been using the sun-soaked destination as the basis for their garden makeovers.

Magic in Greek moonlight as outdoor cinemas open

They're like enchanted pleasure gardens concealed in the depths of the city that open their gates for a few months every year.

And like so much else, Greece's open-air cinemas — where you can enjoy a movie in the flower-scented moonlight with a drink, a snack and even a smoke — have been hard-hit by lockdown measures.

Under the country's partial reopening, open-air cinemas started operating on June 1, a month late and with considerable restrictions: Far fewer seats and no interval, both of which are bad for revenues.

Business so far has been slow, due to these establishments' main operational hazard even in sunny Greece — rain.

UK coronavirus victims have lain undetected at home for two weeks
Doctors say there have been dozens of cases and warn of ‘epidemic of loneliness’

People have died at home alone of Covid-19 during the pandemic and not been found for up to two weeks, doctors who have investigated such deaths have said.

They have only been discovered after a relative, friend or neighbour raised the alarm and have in many cases gone undetected for so long that their body has started to decompose.
