One that might be of particular interest to TonyK - although not a mayor story. Heard the ex-President of Sami Cultural Centre has been sentenced to two years in gaol for fiddling the books.

Presumably the books weren't 19th century Kefalonian poetry!  Always interested though the mayor stories are usually juicier!
