Gatwick Airport limits flights after air traffic control staffing problems
Passengers flying from London Gatwick could face disruption this week after the airport said it would be limiting the number of journeys due to staff sickness and numbers in air traffic control.
A daily 800-flight limit, affecting both departures and arrivals, has been imposed from Monday (25 September) and will run until Sunday (1 October).

Adam Britton: British croc expert admits sexually abusing dogs
A renowned British crocodile expert has admitted to 60 charges relating to bestiality and child abuse material.
An Australian court heard Adam Britton filmed himself torturing dozens of dogs until almost all died.
He would then post videos of the incidents online, where he also accessed child abuse material.
A leading zoologist who has worked on BBC and National Geographic productions, Britton will be sentenced at a later date.
Much of the details of Britton's crimes are too graphic to publish, and so "grotesque" the judge warned people to leave the courtroom.

'Sadistic' man caught on CCTV pushing dog to her death in icy River Wear in Sunderland
A man who killed his pet dog by pushing her into an icy river has been jailed.
Stephen Peveller threw the 12-year-old Pomeranian against railings next to the River Wear, in Sunderland, leaving her injured and struggling to get up after banging her head.
The 48-year-old then put her through the railings and pushed over the edge of the river to her death.
Peveller, who has a previous conviction for child cruelty, has been jailed at Newcastle Crown Court for causing unnecessary suffering to an animal which he had claimed he needed for emotional support.

Epidemiologists investigate two leptospirosis deaths on Corfu
The deaths occurred in the northern village of Karousades. On Friday, a man from the village died from the infection shortly after being admitted to hospital. His was the second death from leptospirosis since May. In a third case, a man was transferred to hospital in Athens in a critical condition but is now out of danger.
Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease carried by many animals, mainly rodents. It cannot be transferred from person to person but only through contact (through the mouth, nose, eyes) or consumption of water contaminated with urine from an infected animal.
Weil’s disease is the most severe form of the infection.

Greece is planning a major regularization program for migrants to cope with labor crunch
Greece’s minister for migration said Tuesday that the government is planning a major regularization program for migrants to meet pressing demands in the labor market despite a recent increase in illegal arrivals.
Dimitris Kairidis told state-run radio that the program would target an estimated 300,000 migrants who are undocumented or whose residence permits have expired to help address acute labor shortages in agriculture, construction and tourism.
