No-deal Brexit will make it ‘illegal’ to pay pensions to retired British expats living in EU, MPs told

It will be “illegal” to pay pensions to many retired British expats if the UK crashes out of the EU without a deal, MPs have been told.

The Association of British Insurers said pensioners who receive their payments into bank accounts in their adopted countries would be left without cash.

During the evidence session, Mr Evans also warned that tourists would be forced to pay more for health insurance, because they would lose cross-EU insurance cards.

You were warned!! The simple solution to pensions would seem to be to get them paid into a UK account and transferred online - paying a charge of course. Insurance - not so easy.  :(

I'm probably stating the obvious here, but as this has come from the Association of British Insurers, it applies to Private Pensions, not the State Pension.

And likewise will all EU pensioners living in the UK and abroad not receive any of the UK based pensions?
