Lyn Jenkins was visited by police after being reported to counter-terrorism programme
A retired doctor who took part in non-violent environmental protests was visited by police at his home after his local NHS trust reported him to the government’s counter-terrorism programme.
Lyn Jenkins, 69, joined the Extinction Rebellion environmental campaign after he became convinced that urgent action was needed to avert climate breakdown.
His local NHS trust referred him to Prevent, the government’s flagship programme designed to stop people from becoming terrorists.

British Tourist Killed in Hit and Run in Northern Greece
Police in Halkidiki, northern Greece, have launched a manhunt for the driver of a car that hit and killed a 57-year-old British man and injured his wife on Sunday.
The accident occurred at around 8.30 p.m. on a rural road outside the hotel where the couple was staying in Kassandra.

Boris Johnson's new rescue puppy moves in to Downing Street
A puppy from an animal rescue charity in south Wales has moved in to Downing Street with Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The 15-week-old Jack Russell-cross, which has yet to be named, had been abandoned by puppy farmers.
