Bush fires in Vlakhata late last night and a small one near Avithos a little earlier today. Suspicion they were deliberately started.

There was another fire behind St George's Castle about 4 o'clock this afternoon. Quickly attended to and put out. Still very windy so should imagine fire crews are on high alert for rest of day and night.

Drones monitoring Zakynthos
Following a spate of arson attacks that razed swaths of forestland on Zakynthos last month, local authorities, in cooperation with the Greek Police (ELAS), are using two drones to monitor the Ionian island from the air in an attempt to locate fires before they are able to do any great damage.
