One of the PZL firefighting 'planes assigned to Kefalonia crashed while tackling a fire on neighbouring Zakynthos. Reports to date say pilot not seriously injured.

Six people on the Italian-flagged ALATALANTA II were rescued by Coast Guard boat yesterday afternoon after it started taking on water in Pessada bay. Boat towed to port where it awaits repair and certification of seaworthiness.
