The upgrading of the route to Cephalonia Airport started

FRAPORT has launched its contractual obligations with the Greek State and Kefalonia Airport ANNA POLATOY. It concerns the extension and upgrading of the landing / take-off runway in order to be absolutely safe but also to accept larger planes.

There will also be a state-of-the-art system that will make it easier for pilots to board their airplane.

The project is carried out within the boundaries of the airport. We will monitor the progress of the project and will inform you.

No specific mention of Kef but according this article in ekathimerini, "upgrading" the runway means it will be dug up and resurfaced:

Loads of new paintwork  on the tarmac of the plane parking area - Numbers and red & yellow colours - must mean something to the pilots. Plus a car races up and down the runway looking for debris plus a roadsweeper.........
