Greece at the best level of new US Travel Advisory Program as "least risky" country to visit
The new program tells potential travellers to "exercise normal precautions"

The US State Department's new travel advisory program has categorised Greece as a low risk area for safety and security.

The new program, which will provide US citizens with clear, timely, and reliable safety and security information, includes 4 levels of advice ranging from "exercise normal precautions" to "do not travel".

The Consular Section at the US Embassy Athens tweeted Wednesday "the rating should have American tourists packing their bags to come."

The interactive map and legend can be access here (https://travelmaps.state.gov/TSGMap).

Situated in the centre of the small port town of Poros, on the island of Kefalonia, in Greece, close to the main train and bus stations and a beach with crystal clear waters, the property offers a quiet base from which to discover the town and its surroundings. In Poros visitors may enjoy the picturesque town square, lined with tavernas and shops, get an insight into the history and traditions of the place at the Archaeological and Folklore museums, take a walk through the narrow streets and up to the Clock Tower, with magnificent panoramic views, or stroll around the Lemonodasos (Lemon Forest), a quick boat ride away, with watermills and tens of thousands of lemon and orange trees. Poros is also a convenient destination to explore Athens, the Peloponnese and other islands of the Saronic Gulf. This affordable accommodation offers air-conditioned rooms with a fridge, balcony and bathroom.
