Hotels on brink of bankruptcy

Almost two in every three hoteliers think they might go bankrupt due to the tourism sector shutdown, while the vast majority of hotel owners expect their annual turnover to decline by more than 50 percent this year. They also speak of employment in the sector shrinking 40 percent, which would mean the loss of some 45,000 jobs.

According to the article that's both year-round and seasonal accommodation, for summer-only hotels just over 50% of owners expect to go bankrupt. If that happens it could have a big impact on future holiday prices.

Coronavirus: German zoo may have to feed animals to each other

Zoos that should have been crowded in the sunny Easter holidays are now hard-up and asking for donations, as the coronavirus lockdown bites.

A zoo director in northern Germany has even admitted that some animals might soon have to be fed to others, if the zoo is to survive.

"We've listed the animals we'll have to slaughter first," Neumünster Zoo's Verena Kaspari told Die Welt.

Trump halts US payments to WHO over coronavirus warnings

President Donald Trump says he has directed a halt to US payments to the World Health Organisation pending a review of its warnings about coronavirus and China.

President Trump says the outbreak could have been contained at its source and spared lives had the UN health agency done a better job investigating reports coming out of China.

Dreams can't be quarantined (VIDEO)

The “Dreams Can’t Be Quarantined” video is a project of particular importance.

Taking into account the global pandemic, this project reminds viewers that no matter how difficult the times we are living in may be, we should always stay positive and think about the best days which are yet to come.

Glad you mentioned it, Tony, as it jogged my memory -  if you haven't already discovered it, Odysea do a decent range of genuine Greek foods, including genuine Greek pita (https://www.odysea.com/elviart-pita-bread-10-pieces-18cm), at reasonable prices with "free delivery on all ambient orders over £30": https://www.odysea.com/

Some of which is available at Sainsbury's, e.g. Odysea (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchDisplayView?catalogId=10241&storeId=10151&langId=44&krypto=yx9qfuSJqfE4cXnsYse0IwQfCk0JruqUtdmjQRlJR8b%2F4FhEBdP%2FZ1jZzTl0RH7Jjd1Xl0O0UTDRqUnUhYTMM5Q%2BPKmMmbBJBnqlm5wsNIRowdhXuTdJ%2FCmJXrdDhwZxiM2qwtgRuPRTlE87LeuWAbMaVFCPsBKrz71vZAI49vh%2BuF32Y%2FxdCnAibl79GEgzfRDlduF%2FGGZp%2F9QjQY3%2BYA%3D%3D#langId=44&storeId=10151&catalogId=10241&categoryId=&parent_category_rn=&top_category=&pageSize=60&orderBy=RELEVANCE&searchTerm=odysea&beginIndex=0&categoryFacetId1=), Karyatis (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchDisplayView?catalogId=10241&storeId=10151&langId=44&krypto=UIraptm8C5Bo%2FJs51o6D41sWTMqQkbbi%2F1DSj3a0yvrugsK7Wpm1nnRij62UWcRaTGlv%2Byx2VP267o9iMkyGbeTGH6tIkyOv%2FpF2aJBVrtpWallPSM4j9%2FoFdfNcoBLDevuT8fsLJ1X%2F7BjHoVpL1K8K4RXQYT3nGeXYSN4dIulKy%2BLGkt93AFW%2BRsOP8Z9hqrUjtPSYtg8BzwnOifjUjQ%3D%3D#langId=44&storeId=10151&catalogId=10241&categoryId=&parent_category_rn=&top_category=&pageSize=60&orderBy=RELEVANCE&searchTerm=karyatis&beginIndex=0&hideFilters=true&categoryFacetId1=), Iliada (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchDisplayView?catalogId=10241&storeId=10151&langId=44&krypto=L6vycAEmffHxyKenkiyNUdfuh1aMasd2922gCoBiKl4Uth%2BBI1QVtex9buIGF8Nam3wNU2l0Y6AZezQ4j8eQbx7ZckNXJDiVDRJ7c%2BRavIKfesS9ZEteMX0ixYLfIiSMZHHDeu4A006Eb8jpFwdmtDIBIkrni2wucOsjoCLRJqwEVaCeqzwkYriWvrUgFBz%2BbI2wJIVsNDNljCJHIn1xnw%3D%3D#langId=44&storeId=10151&catalogId=10241&categoryId=&parent_category_rn=&top_category=&pageSize=60&orderBy=RELEVANCE&searchTerm=iliada&beginIndex=0&hideFilters=true&categoryFacetId1=).

Sainsbury's also offer:

Attis feta (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/attis-greek-feta-200g), Sainsbury's own brand Greek feta (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/sainsburys-greek-feta-200g), Kalamata olives (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/sainsburys-greek-pitted-kalamata-olives-335g), Kalamata extra virgin olive oil (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/sainsburys-greek-kalamata-extra-virgin-olive-oil--taste-the-difference-500ml), extra virgin Greek olive oil (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/sainsburys-greek-olive-oil--extra-virgin-500ml), FAGE Total Greek recipe yoghurt (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/total-cows-milk-greek-yogurt-500g), Sainsbury's authentic Greek yogurt (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/sainsburys-greek-yogurt--taste-the-difference-500g) and Sainsbury's Greek-style yogurt (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/sainsburys-natural-greek-style-yogurt-500g) (which is pretty good / good value).

And then there's halloumi (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/sainsburys-cypriot-halloumi-250g), Kalamata olive bread (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/sainsburys-kalamata-olive-bread-taste-the-difference-400g-6767562-p) and Rowse Greek honey (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/rowse-greek-squeezy-honey-250g).

Not forgetting Mavrodaphne (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/kourtaki-mavrodaphne-of-patras-sweet-red-75cl) and Retsina (https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/kourtakis-retsina).

Looks quite trendy but, er, shouldn't it be a face mask?
