39 year old Syriza MP Zoe Konstantinopoulou was elected Speaker of the Greek Parliament this morning in a secret ballot with a record 235 votes out of 298 voting. She is the youngest Speaker ever, though not the first woman Speaker, that honour going to Anna Bekani-Psarouda of New Democracy in 1996.
