Greece is the most popular destination for Britons holidaying alone, according to the analysis of 100,000 holiday bookings carried out by UK  travel inspiration website 101 Holidays.

According to the research, singles holidays are on the rise, with the biggest surge in demand from the over 50s traveller.

The data of 101 Holidays is supported by the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA), as its 2014 Consumer Holiday Trends Report found that 13 percent of UK holidaymakers now travel alone.
