Disposable plastic items on the way out in 2021The distribution of disposable plastic products on the market will be made illegal as of July 3, 2021, according to a law drafted by the Environment Ministry which seeks to reduce the harmful impact of certain plastics on the environment.These items include plastic cutlery (forks, knives, spoons, chopsticks), plates, straws, food and beverage containers made of expanded polystyrene, and drink stirrers.
Getting a tax number gets easierTaxpayers will now be able to get a tax registration number (AFM) via video call. This is made possible by the myAADElive service and is included in a new decision by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (known in Greek by the acronym AADE), which has modified the existing rules for AFM issuance and starting, changing and halting business activity.

Young girl floating on unicorn saved by ferry boatA little girl on a big inflatable unicorn was swept away by the sea currents and was rescued by a local ferry boat. The incident took place on Sunday in the sea area off the town of Antirio in the Gulf of Corith.
