Patras hospital

TonyKath:
Wow - very clear and detailed - worryingly so!

I meant to say that I hope the page is a complete waste of time and of absolutely no use to anyone but...
yes, you never know. If you do have to go, well, it seems like a pretty good hospital
:)
I've added a hospital plan with a guide to location of Depts. / Units, some of the Google translations haved left me a bit

If anyone can figure out:

ΠΥΚΝΟΤΗΤΑ - Density
ΠΡΟΚΛΗΤΑ ΔΥΝΑΜΙΚΑ - Evoked Potentials
ΤΜΗΜΑ ΛΟΙΜΩΔΩΝ-ΜΑΓΝΗΤΙΚΟΣ - Department Of Infectious-Magnetic

... please let me know!

TonyKath:
Amazing translation work!  Must copy into my greek lesson notes somewhere!  Some very tentative suggestions to your questions above:

Πυκνότητα - ? probably bone density, likely to be located next to/as part of X Ray

Πρόκλητα Δυναμικά - ?? ECG/EEG combined.

Τμήμα Λοιμωδών-Μαγνητικός - ???

Your best chance with something specialist like this would be a friendly English speaking Greek medic or even a Greek with a bit of experience of hospitals.  I might try my Greek teacher.

You don't mention G.O.K on the map.  Used to be seen occasionally in patients' notes for more challenging diagnostic cases i.e."God Only Knows".  Even less common these days of litigation and patient access.  :)

Don't think any UK hospital would dare signpost the location of "laboratory animals", although all university hospitals will have them.  :(

Tried MS Bing Translator

ΠΡΟΚΛΗΤΑ ΔΥΝΑΜΙΚΑ became SURGICAL DYNAMICS - sounds more hospital-like but I'm still clueless as to what it is

Even more so with ΤΜΗΜΑ ΛΟΙΜΩΔΩΝ-ΜΑΓΝΗΤΙΚΟΣ - that translated as SUBPART LOIMWDWN-LEVEL

 :hmm:

Pity they don't have a School of Veterinary Medicine as there's quite a few mangy-looking dogs in the grounds, although they seem well enough fed by staff / visitors.

A little surprising... a pair of pigeons parading around the refectory (which is very modern and clean). One of the visitors was feeding them bread from the table. Probably get a greasy spoon closed down in the UK, never mind a hospital refectory!

Nevertheless, pretty impressed with the hospital  :btu:

TonyKath:
I knew I'd seen evoked potentials somewhere and thought it was to do with EEG/ECG - but checked it out on Wikipedia - it's actually evoked potentials !
