Army Assistance in the Rehabilitation of Areas Affected by Cyclone "Ianos"
The Army, following the order of GEETHA and the approval of the Ministry of National Defense, assists in the rehabilitation of the areas affected by Cyclone "Ianos" by providing personnel and means, as follows:
Kefallinia Island
-2 Officers and 10 Hoplites
-2 General Purpose Vehicles
-2 Land Promoters
-2 Trench Excavators
-4 Trailer Vehicles.
In addition, the Army prepares 700 portions of food daily for the victims in the area of Karditsa, while personnel of the 747 Special Battalion of Engineers provided first aid and rescued an elderly woman in a affected area of Kefallinia.
