Greek football legend Mimis Domazos opens first free Soccer Academy in Greece
Retired Greek football legend Mimis Domazos, who is considered by many to be one of the best players that Greece has ever produced has opened the first free soccer academy in Greece, which will also support stray animals in Athens.
According to the announcement made by the Academy of Greek Football, the 77-year-old nicknamed “The General” is inviting children between the ages of 4 and 16 to enroll and train for free throughout the season, while also supporting stray dogs and other animals in the Greek capital.
The only catch is he requests that those who are in a position to do so, provide dry food, canned food and anything else they wish to donate towards stray animals in Athens.

Warwickshire man uses pension to save 62,000 animals
From badgers to swans and foxes, Geoff Grewcock has nursed them all back to health.
The 69-year-old transformed his garden in Nuneaton into a wildlife sanctuary after he retired as a security guard in 2001.
Since then, the Nuneaton and Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary has helped 62,000 animals. Many have been released back into the wild.

Bakoyianni Says War with Turkey Would Find Greece Alone
Former Greek foreign minister Dora Bakoyianni – sister of Prime Minister and New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis – said if war breaks out with Turkey over provocations in the Aegean and East Mediterranean that Greece will be isolated.
Despite having a technical military and strategic cooperation deal with the United States, and with Greek and Turkey both belong to NATO – which has stayed far away from their feud – she said no one will come to the aid of Greece, a member of the European Union.
In a series of tweets, Bakoyianni said that war with Turkey doesn’t make sense, even as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he will send energy drillships off Crete near Greek waters, because “nobody will sacrifice themselves” for Greece.

They also didn't escape across the country during the wrap party for the movie The African Queen, in 1951.
In fact, reported sightings from the 1860s have been uncovered, Goldsmiths and Queen Mary universities say.
The bright green non-native ring-necked parakeets now thrive across the UK.

Very common around the London area. Saw some in Wallington last month! Many years ago in Malvern, our German Shepherd dog spotted one in the garden and promptly grabbed it in her mouth. Killed it instantly. I was very upset.
