Brief video of a car reversing off the Poros ferry at Kyllini - and ending up in the sea - on inkefalonia.gr

Last I heard, the female driver was rescued very quickly by sailors and port police.

Wow, very dramatic and some quick thinking by the port police.

I'm guessing there was a breakdown in translation for the sign "Please dip your headlamps".

Two Kyllini coast guard officers, Theodoros Kaltsas and Panagiotis Mourtzini, have ben publicly thanked by Minister of Shipping and Island Policy, Mr Yiannis Plakiotakis, for risking their own life to rescue the motorist, Memi Koumariotis-Geraki. A port worker,  Thodoris Kaltsas, also aided Koumariotis-Geraki. Apparently the bad weather caused the ship to sway, moving the 'drawbridge' (ramp) as it was being negotiated by the driver. Well, that's the official version.

Birmingham New Street Christmas meal for homeless people

A Christmas Eve banquet has been laid on at Birmingham's New Street station for hundreds of homeless people.

The three-course festive feast was served on the station concourse, along with entertainment from carol singers.

Network Rail teamed up with Midland Langar Seva Society (MLSS) to feed 350 homeless and vulnerable people.

Volunteers from the Walsall-based charity, which follows a Sikh principle of helping and supporting people regardless of social status fed 200 people at the station last year.

The designs look remarkable and Patras municipality is to be congratulated if it implements it.  This is incredibly controversial in Greece given the strength of the Orthodox opposition. For many years UK crematoria deliberately echoed church architecture to a greater or lesser degree but this design is uncompromisingly secular without Orthodox input.
