Prospects are low for heating oil

The sale of heating oil will start next Thursday, October 15, at the low average rate of 0.78 euros per liter, as things stand. However, the market anticipates demand to remain minimal for the first three months, which is very negative given that it was heating oil that kept fuel trading going during the spring lockdown, when gasoline and diesel saw demand flag.

That's probably the Athens price, expect to pay more on Kef.

Where to get a free Covid-19 test (list of clinics and medical centres)
The testing will start on Monday

Greek citizens displaying symptoms of Covid-19 will be able to get tested free of charge at 161 Health Centres and Regional Clinics starting from Monday, October 12.

The General Secretary of Primary Health Care, Marios Themistokleous explained, the Health Centres will operate either on a 24-hour basis or in two shifts, ie from 7 in the morning until 10 in the evening.

Citizens who have symptoms compatible with SARS-CoV2 coronavirus infection should contact the Health Centres only by appointment. Either through the electronic appointment platform, where an option for a COVID-19 Clinic is available, or with the 5-digit in use until today, or by contacting the Health Centre directly.

see the complete list of Covid-19 testing clinics and medical centers here

From what I can see, the test centre on Kefalonia (presumably at Argostoli hospital) will be open 07:00-15:00

Widespread protests across Greece by Roma community

Fires, road blockades, and burnt tires make up the scene of widespread protests across Greece are by members of the Roma community who are demanding justice for the killing of an 18-year-old man.

The protests started in Messina where the killing took place and quickly spread in other areas where Roma settlements are located.

Apparently the National Road between Patras-Kyllini was blocked last night.

Just heard the head of Argostoli hospital, Fotis Messaris, has unexpectedly tendered his resignation. Apparently a number of doctors have previously quit. Something not quite right there?

Kefalonia & Ithaka will be getting one, maybe two, patrol boats specially kitted out with sanitary equipment for the safe transfer of people by sea.

Coronavirus: Doctors call for mandatory masks in offices and outdoors in new wish list
Doctors accuse the government of "letting down its guard" and say "inconsistent" messaging has played a part in the second wave.

Masks should be mandatory indoors and outdoors where two-metre social distancing is not possible, doctors have said.

Publishing a wish list of recommendations for ministers, the British Medical Association (BMA) accused the government of "letting down its guard" and said "inconsistent" messaging since the nationwide lockdown was lifted had played a part in the resurgence of the virus.

Queen top UK album chart for first time in 25 years

Rock group Queen have returned to the top of the charts for the first time since 1995.

The band's concert album, Live Around The World, beat competition from K-pop band Blackpink and former Spice Girl Melanie C to claim the top spot.

It's Queen's 10th number one overall and the first for US singer Adam Lambert, who joined the group in 2011.
