Qihoo AV cheats tests

Chinese anti-virus vendor Qihoo 360 has been caught cheating on benchmarking tests by submitting versions running A-V engines from rival Bitdefender.

Qihoo "cheated" by turning off its engine and flicking on BitDefender's, a setting state that is the opposite of what customers receive by default... as the majority of users leave settings unchanged, most tests insist on using the default product settings to best represent real‐world usage.

Not the first Chinese anti-malware company to be caught cheating. Back in 2009 IOBit copied Malwarebytes Anti-Malware database and called it their own. This is a bit less serious as Qihoo lease the rights to use the Bitdefender AV engine but it's now pretty obvious that it's Bitdefender and not their own AV engine that gets them good scores in AV tests.
