Councils in England can impose fines of up to £300 on households if their chimneys emit too much smoke, and up to £1,000 for burning wood in an open fire. Criminal prosecutions can be pursued for serious repeat offenders.

Apparently January 2023 was the wettest for the past ten years on Kef with 239.3 mm of rainfall. It was also the third hottest over the last ten years with an average temperature of 11.6C. Highest recorded was 17.7C, lowest 5.7C.
