Theodoros Kallinos, a historical figure for Crete and a hero of the Resistance, died at the age of 100. He was a legend in the Battle of Crete and led a battalion in the only victorious Greek struggle, the battle of Kopsas.

He fought but never surrendered in Kali Fort. He was a volunteer troupe commander in the Battle of Crete in May 1941. He participated and led the resistance against the German invasion at the hill of Kopsas, northeast of Heraklion.

Theodore Kallinos was buried Friday at noon in Thessaloniki, at the Agios Panteleimon Church in Kalamaria.
