The biggest ever Greek flag was raised in Alexandroupolis, northeastern Greece, on Saturday, making local residents proud.

The blue and white flag is an impressive 600 square meters, making it the biggest in the whole country.

The gigantic Greek flag is an initiative of the Alexandroupolites Club 2017 and was raised at the Altinalmazi eco-park.

Alexandroupolis is the capital of the Evros prefecture, the easternmost region in Greece bordering with Turkey. Evros River is partly the natural borderline between the two countries.
