For the Eptanisa as a whole, looks like kef will escape the worst of it.

UK weather: Britain to be 'hotter than Greece' as temperatures soar to 25C bringing week-long sizzle

And while Brits could be heading outdoors to enjoy the bright weather, holiday makers in Kefalonia, Greece, are looking at temperatures of around 20C - five below those forecast in the UK.

Hm, maybe. It does seem that Kef weather can be a bit dull when it's warm and sunny in the UK but, of course, decent weather in the UK rarely lasts long.

The weather is set to improve even more on Saturday with temperatures reaching 22C on Sunday, one degree warmer than Kefalonia in Greece.

And temperatures could be even warmer in northern parts of Wales, with the mercury reaching at least 20°C - compared to 18°C in Kefalonia in Greece.

Kefalonia seems to be the place to compare weather with, even if the forecasters can't agree how warm it'll be on Kef.

The Express get in on the act, albeit in Fahrenheit:

An early taste of summer will see thermometers reach 72F (22C) as householders turn off the heating at last. That would be hotter than the 70F expected in Greek holiday island destination Kefalonia.

HuffPost getting in on the party:

Parts of the south east could hit 22C – bringing heat on a par with the western Greek island of Kefalonia – though further west it will be cloudier and breezier, with patches of rain at times.

Oh dear Daily Fail - you shouldn't have chosen Kef's hottest day so far this year. 27 in the night and this morning knocking on the door of 30. Very cloudy / breezy without much sun though.

Yesterday was the hottest April day (30c shade temperature) for 10 years. From tomorrow it will start to cool, while the UK will get warmer. Could be on a par later in the week.

Well, all I can say is that we have had 32 and 33°C in Kilkis for several days now...
