Yellow penguin sighted for ‘first time ever’ in South Atlantic
A yellow-and-white penguin with no black on it has been spotted for what is thought to be the first time ever.
A wildlife photographer captured shots of the “never before seen” bird among thousands of black-and-white penguins on a South Atlantic island.
Yves Adams said: “I’d never seen or heard of a yellow penguin before. There were 120,000 birds on that beach, and this was the only yellow one there.”

Russia's stray dogs with bright-coloured fur. Photos in link.
First there were bright blue stray dogs, then bright green ones. Russia is trying to solve the mystery of these dogs, which appeared in industrial areas hundreds of miles apart.

Heard an interesting rumour about the Aeolos Kenteris I high speed ferry. Built in France in 2000 and owned by Lesvos-based NEL Lines before they went bust in 2015, it was bought by Crete-based ANEN for 2,020,000 euros back in late 2019 and transferred to their ownership late 2020. What's interesting about the rumour is that it's allegedly going to be competing for the Poros-Kyllini route.
:dunno:

Bit of a bizarre story coming out of Lixouri: seems police apprehended two thieves stripping a hotel of its contents, down to basics such as doors and fittings. No mention of which hotel, have to wonder if it's not the monstrosity that's been empty for several years (forgotten it's name!). One version of the story reckons the pair consist of one male and one female, another reckons two males.

Bird flu: humans infected with H5N8 strain for first time in Russia
Seven poultry workers found to be infected, but no evidence of transmission between humans
A H5N8 strain of bird flu has been detected in humans for the first time, among seven workers who were infected at a Russian poultry plant in December.
There is no evidence of the strain being transmitted between humans, but Russia has reported the transmission to the World Health Organization.
The workers now feel well, and “the situation did not develop further”, according to Dr Anna Popova, head of consumer health watchdog Rospotrebnadzor.

Grandma Linadatos would be so pleased as she planted the originals across from her home when they moved down after the earthquake.
