Greece to launch e-registry for leisure boats under Greek and foreign flags

Greece will finally launch an e-registry for leisure boats via an amendment to modernize the relevant legal framework.

The amendment is to be submitted to the Parliament on Thursday and will be attached to a bill on central depositories.

Legislation establishing an e-registry was originally passed in early 2014 but was never implemented.

According to amna, Finance Ministry officials said the e-registry will be part of the Independent Authority of Public Revenue (AADE) and will be updated with the cooperation of citizens, the Merchant Shipping ministry and AADE.

It will include all private and professional leisure boats under the Greek flag, professional boats under foreign flags and professional daily cruise ships.

The officials said the e-registry will simplify procedures for boat owners and will offer statistical data to support the development of sea tourism in the country.

Not totally sure this relates to the above, but I'd think it does, somehow:

Quite informative, although maybe one-sided.
