Int’l travelers to Greece to quarantine for 3 days instead of 10

The mandatory precautionary quarantine of travelers flying into Greece between December 18 and January 7 has been reduced from the 10 days initially announced to three, according to government spokesman Stelios Petsas.

The government decided to reduce the number of days in quarantine after a strong reaction from Greeks who had already booked their flight to return to Greece between December 18 and January 7.

Survey Reveals Only 4 Out of 10 Greeks Want to Get Coronavirus Vaccine

A new survey was published on Saturday morning revealing some interesting yet alarming results about the attitudes of the Greek population towards the vaccination program that is about to begin to combat the spread of Covid-19.

The survey was conducted by the Athens University of Economics and Business and it asked a total of 3,571 individuals, covering a wide spectrum of socioeconomic classes of the Greek society.

The survey covered a series of issues in regards to the pandemic, however, its most alarming finding was the one about the upcoming vaccination against the novel coronavirus.

According to the survey, only 42 percent of the population is willing to get vaccinated, a figure significantly lower compared to the percentage of the population that needs to get the vaccine in order for the country to achieve the so-called herd immunity.

Rhodes planning to control deer overpopulation

The number of “platoni,” a subspecies of fallow deer (Dama dama), living in forested areas of the southeastern Aegean island of Rhodes has jumped from around 200 a few years ago to more than 5,000, according to a recent census conducted as part of a plan for their management, in response to the problem caused by their overpopulation, mainly in terms of crop damage.

The platoni are a protected species found exclusively on the island and are inextricably linked to its heritage.
