This is how Covid vaccines will be administered in Greece

The Prime Minister said that the entire procedure will be managed through a digital platform. Appointments at vaccination centres will be booked online.

“We will book both appointments from the beginning because the vaccine has two doses and we will propose them to citizens,” he said, adding that vaccinations can begin immediately after official approval by the European Union.

Greece to launch Covid vaccine campaign by end of 2020

A public awareness campaign is being launched at the end of the year by Greece’s Health Ministry.

On Friday night (local time) the Parliament approved the ‘National Vaccination Campaign against Covid-19′ amendment meant to urge citizens to vaccinate against Covid-19.

In agreement with political parties, the Church as well as social organisations and scientific bodies, the Ministry’s campaign is targeted towards dissolving any doubts or resistance regarding inoculations.

At the same time, the country is going through lockdown 2.0 which has been extended into January 2021 due to Covid-19 cases still being high in numbers. To date, Greece has registered more than 121,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and 3,370 deaths.

Intensive care units are at 83 per cent of their capacity nationwide, with Thessaloniki being at 91 per cent capacity. Government spokesman Stelios Petsas, reduced the 9pm to 5am curfew by one hour yesterday, for the festive period. However, authorities will not be flexing the curfew for Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Hm, sounds as though a licence has been given for a seasonal floating platform, for use by a boat hire company, in AntiSamos bay - despite objections from Sami municipality.

Other recent approvals include pontoons for visiting boats in Poros harbour and completion of the Ag. Pelagia harbour. Approval given to update plans for Katelios harbour, but completion is likely to be years away.

Thanks, Roger - although I have posted most of that news already!

A technical consultant is to be appointed to examine the Katelios fishing shelter and thus enable it to be completed. Additionally, a study of the Pylaros river basin is to be undertaken with a view to identifying areas where flood defences are necessary; also, and a water storage reservoir is planned for Grizata to improve supply and help prevent floods in the area.

Sounds as though Skala is in line for a make-over along the coast road to Poros with improvements to the pedestrian walkway included in the plan. The proposed floating jetty for Poros old port, accommodating upto 40 yachts, may be a reality this summer - there again, it may not. But the bridge is being worked on.

Hey ho!

Almost 45 minutes duration and it's in Greek, but it's Kefalonia:
