Title: confidence in the islad
Post by: nick and ange on Monday, 29 June, 2015 @ 10:46:08
Everyone seems progressively stressed at present so let's give our hosts/neighbours some moral support and look optimistic. Back them to come through it all. Probably a NO on Sunday for most,I reckon.

ps- Where can we get some cash?!!

Well, in Skala you won't notice much change in every day life and if you didn't know the news there's not much to give a hint of it. ATM opposite the office been working OK so far, no queues, and no queue at the ATMs in Poros when I drove through. Still exchanging GBP for euros in the office.

Not sure which way the vote will go... (I'm somewhat amazed it can be organised so quickly).

*Might* be a good time to buy euros, PO (online) offering 1.37 and you might be able to get around 1.40 online elsewhere.

Can't see that Greece could introduce a new currency ovenight and, even if it did, the euro (like GBP) would still be valid for exchange into chocolate buttons.

Hard choice there, I might prefer chocolate buttons to the euro. Mind you, they could be inflationary (on the waistline, at least).

Bitcoins, buttons(choccy), Drachma,Euro I don't know what the answer is but with my hand on my heart whichever it is I truely hope it gives these people some respite and a little dignity back after the crock of sh.t that's been served to them over the last few years by spreadsheet Simon and clipboard Clifford !
