Amazing there weren't more fatalities, what a tragedy.
Speaking to Mirror Online, Ela Hopkins, from Wales, who is on holiday in Rhodes, said:... "We were on the 6th floor of the 17-floor hotel, Rodos Palace."

Kos airport management reports says facility operating normally, safely; only minor delays cited
Fraport Greece on Friday morning assured that the airport on the quake-hit island of Kos is operating normally and safely for passengers and flights... inspections were immediately made on the runway and all facilities... no injuries or serious damage was recorded... only minor delays were cited, with an expected normalization during the day on Friday.
Passengers are requested to contact their airlines and tour operators in order to be accurately informed of any delays on their scheduled flights.

The port of Kos suffered severe damage from the deadly earthquake that struck the island in the early hours of Friday.
Passenger ferry Blue Star Paros with hundreds of passengers on board could not dock to the port and sailed to nearby islands.
Government officials who rushed to the island say that the port is temporary closed until inspectors arrive to assess the damage. Deputy Minister of Shipping, Nektarios Santorinios, went to Kos to inspect the damage.
In a radio interview, he said that a large part of the harbor in Kos has subsided, and that efforts are being made to re-establish naval routes through alternative docking points in the island.

Like Roger I was surprised it wasn't worse, though bad enough. ? Possibly because of quality of anti-quake building methods.

Quite possibly. Unlike Kef there are many older buildings on Kos, particularly in Kos Town, including some quite substantial Roman remains. Looks like it was the traditional, old buildings that suffered most. Here's a before and after of the old Lefterdar mosque:

In the uk.businessinsider.com link (http://uk.businessinsider.com/photos-kos-greece-deadly-earthquake-aftermath-2017-7) there's a pic of the traditional stone building that housed the White Corner bar and one of Kos port - very seriously damaged. Very fortunate Kos airport didn't suffer any real damage.

Thanks for the pics - even the mosque isn't too bad - the minaret seems to have fallen away from the main building.

A survey of the impact of last Friday’s 6.6 magnitude earthquake on the island of Kos found that 52 buildings have been damaged to the point that they have been declared unsafe.
The survey was conducted over the three days immediately after the tremor and found that 32 houses had also been deemed uninhabitable.
