Homeward bound

Germany, winners in 2014, have just crashed out of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, losing 2-0 to South Korea. The game looked to be heading for a 0-0 draw, which would have seen Germany go home early, but South Korea scored in injury time. Desperate for a win to stay in the competition, the German goalkeeper came out and played in midfield where he lost possession allowing Korea to make a long pass which Son rolled into an empty goal.

This is the first time Germany haven't progressed past the group stage first round since 1938.

Poland might be getting worried.
