Greek Atheists Hold Meat Eating Feast on Holy Friday

The Atheist Union of Greece held meat eating feasts in several cities across Greece on Holy Friday in order to go against the tide of Easter season.

The events organized are called “Supper in the Open” in order to make fun of the Last Supper, which in Greece is called “The Secret Supper”. It is an annual event atheists hold each year.

Police still 'in control' of London's streets, says Met commissioner after week of bloodshed

Ms Dick’s comments also followed a night in which six teenagers were stabbed within just 90 minutes on London’s streets. Four of the victims, including a 13-year-old boy, were seriously injured but none lost their lives.

Police abandoning burglary victims as two thirds of cases closed without investigation

Police are failing to properly investigate two thirds of burglaries as forces struggle to cope with the rising tide of crime on Britain's streets.

In the last two years the number of unsolved domestic burglaries has risen from 47 per cent to 64 per cent - while in some areas nine out of ten cases are written off without any action.

After years of decline, burglary has suddenly seen a sharp upturn with more than 400,000 crimes recorded last last year - around half of which took place at people's homes.

But despite the surge in offences, many forces have stopped routinely attending burglaries in person, opting instead to deal with victims on the phone.

Holidaymakers warned about fake accommodation bookings

Holidaymakers are being warned about fraudsters who place false adverts on accommodation websites, conning them out of hundreds of pounds.

Last year, some 4,700 travellers fell victim to such scams, which included fake airline tickets.

On average those affected lost £1,500 each in 2017, according to the police, a 25% rise on the year before.

In many cases the fraudsters hack into accommodation websites and ask to be paid directly.

But as soon as payment is made, they disappear.

Facebook planning 'unsend' feature for all users following revelation Mark Zuckerberg messages were being secretly deleted

Facebook is planning to make an "unsend" feature available to all users following the revelation messages from Mark Zuckerberg were being secretly deleted from people's inboxes.

The social media giant said it was working on the change and expects it to be ready in several months.

It comes after the company admitted it has been removing executives' messages from the inboxes of various people for several years - an option not currently available to its 2.2 billion other users.

Nothing new about this - the tunnels have been open for quite a few years now - but still very interesting. Despite the article it is well established that Williamson had them dug as a work creation scheme during a period of unemployment. Funnily enough 50 years later after the tunnels had been forgotten Keynes recommended that during a recession governments should bury money and allow the unemployed to dig it up.

I've been past the tunnels several times but never visited them, just like I never visited the Royal Pavilion over many years living near and even in Brighton. But have since.
