Hi Folks just been watching Breakfast on BBC and at each weather break they are stressing very bad weather for your neck of the woods for tomorrow and Thursday. Possibility of flash floods due to excessive rain and thunder storms. Looks like bucket and mop time. Warning prospective travellers to be aware possible travel disruption in the area. Don't wish to be a Job's comforter but thought you may like to be aware. I have never seen an announcement like that before. Good Luck everybody!!!

Seems rather strange, as the BBC forecast for Argostoli shows sunshine!
Remember it is the BBC, they have been known to make the odd blunder.

The BBC forecast said simply "Thunderstorms, heavy rain, possible flash floods in Greece and the Greek Islands"

Which is ofd course a useless piece of information given the variances not just between the mainland and the islands themselves, but also just between locations on Kef itself

See Accuwather's forecast for Katelios and Argostoli below - a difference of 7'C - really?

Here's what Kathimerini said earlier today:

Rain and possible storms are expected in many parts of Greece on Tuesday, and particularly in the islands of the Ionian and on mainland Greece, where hailstorms are also likely, the Hellenic National Meteorological Service reported.

*Some* rain in these parts but not too bad... so far...

Windows XP: Your upgrade experiences

No more support means no more bug fixes or security patches, making these older machines more vulnerable to cyber attack and malware.

While some have found the process of upgrading straightforward, others have found it expensive, irritating and time-consuming.

And interestingly, it isn't the operating system itself that seems to be causing the biggest headache, it's transferring the applications that used to run on it and upgrading the servers that supported the old machines.

Here's a selection of your XP stories.

A bit of rain and thunder here now, not a problem yet, but I will need more nails if I have to build the Ark.

I have recorded 12.7 mms in the last 24 hours. First significant rain since May 4th. Storms were nothing like as bad as forecast.

Was in Argostoli this afternoon at about 6 pm and it chucked it down. Roads turned into rivers and great spectator sport watching some Greek cars with slick tyres (must be practising for the F1 that may come to Greece) trying to get up the roads.
