An animal charity is attempting to trace the owner of a dog that was abandoned at a railway station with its belongings in a suitcase.
The male Shar-Pei crossbreed was discovered tied to a railing outside Ayr station on 2 January.
The suitcase included the dog's pillow, toy, food bowl and food.

How the hell could she just leave him though - she should be banned from having a dog for that

Turns out the so-called owner was pretty dodgy.  Tried to sell the woman a totally different dog when the woman had not agreed to the sale (she claims).  He then cleared off taking her deposit and leaving her holding the baby, er... dog.  He later told the press he had sold the dog and didn't know who to.  All done via Up A Gumtree, apparently.

Simple solution: Never by a pet from someone in a "neutral venue".  Always see the animal in its home environment so you know where it is from and how it has been looked after.

So both as bad as each other.
