Well done to everyone who organised and helped at the bazaar, the bakers did their usual fantastic job,as well as the family at Dum Spiros in Svoronata, who always support us and lend us their restaurant for the venue. A fantastic 2,365.41 € was raised!

Just waiting to hear from Pat Dolman what the final number of neuters were for this year - 700 was last year's figure, so did we make the thousand, or not...watch this space!!

We didn't quite make the 1,000 neuters this year, the final total was 915! Still, a very impressive number and greatly helped by the recent visiting Dutch charity vet who neutered 192 cats in 11 days, how fantastic was that?!! So, next year we aim for 1,000, perhaps a few more...

The answer to your question, Tony, is seeing that slowly we are making a difference - I'm sure you've noticed the general improvement in the health of the local cats. Also, there has been a large increase in the number of Greek animal owners requesting assistance with neutering, thanks to the education offered by the vets and all the charities. It is great to see that at last more owners are taking responsibility for their animals, however, there is still a way to go. The fundraising is essential to keep the neutering programme going and we have a great group of people who are actively involved with the winter feeding, neutering and welfare of the island's animals.
