England named second best destination to visit in 2020 by Lonely Planet
Bhutan takes number one spot

The travel publisher has revealed its top picks of countries, cities, regions and best-value destinations that it thinks are set to shine bright in the year ahead.

Bhutan in South Asia was crowned number one, thanks in part to plans to become the first fully organic nation by 2020.

North Macedonia in the Balkans came third (2020 sees the addition of flight routes to Unesco-protected Lake Ohrid).

Despite the name I'm sure Lake Ohrid is lovely. Athens is listed as one of the best value destinations!
