Certainly seems Christos from Veronica's in Skala is connected with the new shop opening opposite, latest rumour is that it will be a 'pound shop'.
:dunno:

Majority of new nurses at Walsall Manor Hospital will be from Italy and Greece
Health chiefs have started the recruitment process which will see officials speak with potential recruits from Rome and Greece. If this fails they will then look towards Croatia.
It comes after it emerged nurses from Ireland had snubbed the chance to fill vacant posts.

Fairly sizeable extension to the front of San Giorgio in Skala, some guests staying there told me it's going all-inc. next year. Not sure how true that bit is, but possible.

Allegedly a boat on fire off Mounda earlier today. Didn't see any smoke when I came back from Skala around 13:00 and no obvious sign of any activity at sea in that area.

Given our discussion last year about personal care in Greek hospitals being done by families, not nurses I wonder how the Greek nurses will manage in the UK. Quite apart from the obvious question of why we don't train enough of our own.
Tremendous example of good quality local journalism when it's said to be a dying trade.

Thanks, BeeTee and Misty. Maybe it happened after I left Skala, or wasn't visible from Skala. Certainly no sign of any 'excitement' there.
