Greece Ranked Among Highest Beer Taxing Countries in EU
New data shows that Greece’s tax on beer is among the top five in Europe. Each European country is required to have a Special Consumption Tax on beer, the minimum of which is 1.87 euro per 100 liters. Greece is far from the minimum, however, with a tax rate of 0.21 euros per bottle of beer.
Finland, Ireland, Great Britain and Sweden come in just before Greece with the highest tax rates on beer in Europe.

Kef police yesterday arrested a local and a foreign national for thefts from tourist cars in the Sami area, and similar offences on Levkas. Among the items confiscated by police were 3,955€ and £15, five passports, two laptops. And the car they were using.
