A man and a woman have been arrested on Cephalonia for stealing bronze items and other valuables from a cemetery on the Ionian island.

The pair, both 42, were arrested while in possession of 156 kilos of items stolen from Lixouri cemetery.

It is believed they carried out two raids at the cemetery.
