As sadly missed as piles.  I think the following quote from the New Statesman written by Sarah Ditum sums it up for me:

"If every signatory to the petition (to reinstate Clarkson) were boiled down for biofuel, the world would be a cleaner, smarter place.  We live in a world of Stupid, and Clarkson is its king."

IMHO, of course.
