Greek pharmacists are expected to decide upon further industrial action this week in protest at the coalition government’s plans to reform the sector.

The principal point of contention between pharmacists and the government is the troika’s demand for the liberalization of the market of nonprescription drugs, which would see supermarkets authorized to stock and sell such medicines.

Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis on Monday fought off criticism from opposition parties, but also from junior coalition partner PASOK, over a 5-euro fee that patients will be charged for admission to polyclinics in the country’s new Primary National Healthcare Network (PEDY).

The Internet and travel were made for each other, enabling millions of individuals to access flights, accommodation and holiday packages. But online tricksters are swindling at least £7 million a year from unwary travellers, according to a new report from National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB).

Nearly 5,000 cases of holiday booking fraud were reported in 2013. The single most lucrative fraud is for holiday accommodation. Three out of 10 holiday fraud victims were scammed by fake advertisements of villas and apartments.

Some piccies I snapped this morning of an old pre-earthquake house almost next door, don't think this is the result of recent quake activity but rather rain erosion. Looks like the outer surfaces of the double skin stone walls were cemented (and probably then plastered over) but the infill in the inevitable gaps between them looks to be small stones and mud:

BERLIN, March 4 (Reuters) - Summer travel bookings and revenues at TUI's German business are up from last year thanks especially to a jump in demand for holidays in Greece and prospects look promising in the coming months.

TUI said bookings for holidays in Greece were up 28 percent from a year earlier as the tour operator added flights and hotels to its offering.

Lovely old building Maik and very old, with the window/door lintels made of wood. Glad it's still standing.

Stonehenge is like a sacred 'prehistoric glockenspiel', researchers claim

The pillars that form Stonehenge may have been chosen because they were like sacred “prehistoric glockenspiels”, according to researchers.

The sonorous quality of some of the bluestones used for the monument built between 3,000 BC and 1,600 BC may explain why they were transported 200 miles from Pembrokeshire, Wales, when there were plenty of local rocks to use nearby.

Gross misuse of sellotape. A well-aimed board rubber is just as effective. And teaches kids to be alert.
