Greece’s neglected former Olympic venue to get major revamp by 2023

Greece on Tuesday unveiled a plan to tap European Union and private funds for a revamp of its biggest sports complex, which hosted the 2004 Olympic Games but had been left deteriorating since then.

Covering a 250-acre plot, the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (OAKA), which houses Greece’s largest football pitch and other sports venues, has been incurring losses and cost the state 200 million euros ($235.66 million) in maintenance since 2005, according to the government.

Heard easyJet and Jet2 'planes will be landing at Kef airport twice a week from today, easyjet on Wednesdays and Sundays, Jet2 Wednesdays and Saturdays. Not sure where easyJet is flying from, could be Italy. Jet2 looks to be UK flights.

Greece Takes Action to Reopen Zakynthos’ Famed Shipwreck Beach

Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis announced this week that a bill open for public consultation would pave the way for the reopening to the public of the popular Navagio Beach on the Ionian island of Zakynthos.

Access to the world famous beach and one of the most photographed tourist destinations globally had been banned in 2018 after a landslide injured seven people.
