Bookings from the UK show recovery on Brexit delay

Bank of Greece data on British tourist arrivals and reports from major hotel chains are quite encouraging for 2019, pointing to a recovery in bookings.

This follows a period of concern about how Brexit would affect the British tourism market.

Last year tourism revenues from British visitors dropped 6.2 percent on a yearly basis to 1.937 billion euros, and arrivals shrank 2 percent to 2.943 million visitors.

Gender neutral boats on the rise as Maritime Museum vows to remove all signs referring to ships as 'she'

It was The Queen who said: “May God bless her and all who sail in her,” as she commissioned Britain’s latest warship, the HMS Queen Elizabeth, in 2014.

But now the tradition of referring to boats as "she" or "her" is under threat after centuries of naval history.

On Tuesday it emerged that a British maritime museum has begun referring to ships it exhibits as "it" in a bid to appear more gender neutral.

Asda cereal bars salmonella warning

ASDA has warned customers that its own brand cereal bars could contain salmonella.

The supermarket is recalling its Cranberry and Nut Cereal Bars because they ‘might be contaminated’ with the dangerous bacteria.

Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

If you have bought a pack with a date code of September 2019, do not eat it.

Asda quotes the barcode number as 505717208672.
