This picture taken from Katelios last evening. Many fire fighting planes tackled the blaze all day with strong winds driving it toward villages. It continued to burn during the night, although the wind eventually abated. This morning there are still planes in the sky, but a lot less smoke.

Allegedly, Rodi Kratsa, Ionian Islands Regional Governor, had been told the fire was started by a shepherd. Not clear if that was any particular shepherd or if it's just "a shepherd" getting the blame. Property developers, Albanians, foreign agents, etc, can all breath easy for a while longer.
